“And God said to Avram: go now from your country, from the place you were born and from your family home and go to the land I will show you”. (Genesis, Chap. XII, 1).
Avram is asked to divest himself of his preconceptions, to leave the customs and ways of his family and culture and go to a land that is not specified, a land that God will show him.
This land is the inner landscape of Avram’s own soul and God is asking him to follow his inner truth, to go where God leads. And thus it was.
Through the circles, I have also found my way to the truth within my heart.
A spiral, circular motion has lead me to knowledge, understanding and spiritual power.
History
I was born in Israel in 1964 and spent half my childhood in rainy Scotland.
I have been drawing and creating all my life.
This is the strongest and most central mode of expression within me.
Throughout my life, I have studied various techniques of painting, drawing, graphic-art, color, multi-media, CAD, sculpture, sewing and jewelry-making.
I am married to Gady and we have three children.
I have a B.A. in education with a major in Drama and Art, and a BLA. in landscape architecture.
I run my own architect’s office, specializing in landscape architecture and design.
Life
Over the years, my search for more vibrant health and deeper spiritual empowerment has lead me to investigate different ways to meditate and strive for peace of mind, but I couldn’t quite find what I was looking for.
One day, the possibility to doodle as a meditation came up and I started to create some circles on paper.
What began as a few moments of scribbling gradually swelled into a revelation.
The wandering of my hand over the page became a great and bubbling fountain of color, shapes and patterns.
As the mandalas emerged from within me, so my emotions, thoughts and insights became clearer and my spiritual understanding deeper.
I have found that “all is whole within the circle”.
The deep calm of a repeating cycle,
The fullness of perfection.
A spring of joy and satisfaction.
Depth
As I became more deeply involved with the mandalas (my Maagalot), I began researching the subject within the various mystic traditions of the world, with a special emphasis on Jewish Kabbalah.
These studies have opened my eyes to new and wonderful worlds, as I discovered that wherever human beings are alive, the circle is always associated with Creation and God.
New insights and new knowledge have led me to new levels of creativity and spiritual growth as my art expanded to include new materials and deeply empowering tools.
Each and every mandala that I create, emerges from deep meditation and is imbued with my love for both the process and the product.
Invitation
You are invited to browse the gallery, where you can view my works and the photographs of Gady, my spouse.
Gady is also the webmaster of this site and is an NYIP graduate whose wonderful photography is scattered throughout this website and concentrated in the photo albums, where he devotes special focus to the topic of the “circle”.
“The circle is one and is all, it has no beginning
nor end, just like creation itself”.
